ROLLA, N.D. — The family of a 6-year-old Rolla boy say they're angry about a prosecutor's handling of a case involving the child.
The family says the boy was sexually assaulted. An attorney for Aaron LaVallie of Rolla denies that, and says the family is vindictive and “berserk.”
Attorney Lynn Boughey says LaVallie pleaded guilty to child neglect and abuse as part of a plea agreement with Rolette County State's Attorney Lisa Gibbens.
Boughey says LaVallie admitted to using drugs in front of the boy, but LaVallie insists there was no sexual assault.
LaVallie was given a suspended sentence last week and sentenced to probation.
The boy's family wants the Rolette County Commission to ask the governor to oust Gibbens from office.
Gibbens didn't respond Wednesday to a request for comment.
